Please understand my fear of love

Every time I let it in, it tears my soul,

and it breaks me down to pieces every time I see it go.

Please understand my fear to trust.

don’t be quick to judge my feelings

it’s not easy, yet a must.

Every single time I’ve tried to fly

with hopes of conquering the blue sky,

my wings turn out to be too frail,

I drown each time that I set sail.
